Hi all, i'm new here and just started the Paleo. I have read the Faq and also other Questions similar to mine, but everyone react in a different way, and my simptoms are very different. A little of background, Why I started Paleo lifestyle? Well, I'm 34 1.82cm x 68Kg, so no fat at all. Some years ago I got a problem with my sciatic nerve, and no one doctor has been able to solve it. All tests are negative, so when I heard that i could reduce inflammations with another diet i said to myself "Why don't try?" My goal is to get rid off, of this inflammation and start training again, before the problem at the sciatic nerve i was 76KG. The problem with the Paleo.... Today is the third day and i still haven't eat nothing.....so I'm going back to the first day. The first day i woke up, and i ate one apple one coffe with no sugar an nothing else. At lunch about 200gr of salmon and 300 of salad ( without salt, only olive oil and some lemon), at dinner 150gr of pork steaks and salad. Around midnight i was hungry so I ate some tuna fish ( the one boxed....). I could not sleep around the 3:50 i fallen asleep, and i woked up at 7:00 very nervous. Again one apple and one coffee. Lunch 200gr of chicken breast, salad with olive olive oil and lemon and no salt ( a lot! ) and nothing else. At dinner almost the same. Now i don't know how describe my situation, before the paleo i was usea to eat with a lot of sugar and salt! I've never ate a lot of pasta, bread and such, but for some strange reason yesterday i felt very nervous..so i went out for a walk and my night finished drinking some beer with vodka, no effect at all, still nervous... Today is the third day, i feel tired, with no appetite, but i think that i should eat something, or better even if i have no appetite i will cook something and i will eat. So if i want summarize, my problem are fatigue, no appetite, nervousness and i can't sleep.. Someone here believe that the cold turkey from my previous diet can be the problem? Should i add some carb maybe some pasta just a little? Ah, and another thing, for 3 days I has been very constipated....always thirsty, and i think yesterday I've urinated at least 12 times..... Anyway I'm not going to give up......i will try the Paleo for at least one month. Any suggestions is much appreciated, and excuse me for my horrible english. Thanks in advance.

Do your paleo with starches! What you have sounds like low carb flu, and I don't see what else it could be in just a couple of days. I get very nervous as well when doing low carb, and for you, being so light, there's just no need at all to go low carb. On the other hand, I also get nervous when I eat wheat, and I know people who describe themselves as wheat junkies that went through this when quitting wheat.
Don't eat pasta! Eat more fruit, esp. bananas, eat as much sweet potatoes and white rice as you want. Hopefully that will set you right.

you need to eat waaaay more food.
and there's no reason to avoid salt for god's sake. especially if you are peeing a lot.

Poison, your symptoms are almost identical to mine. I like to think of it as detox. You feel like crap, your systems are all messed up, can't sleep -- all the same as I experienced. Took two complete weeks for me, then the third week I felt normal, then the fourth week I started to feel better. Stick with it, SAD is very much like a drug. You've taught your body to expect cheap, inefficient fuel, and tons of fiber. -- You have to detox it!
