What do you eat on a Fat Fast?

I'm experimenting with a fat fast. I eat Coconut Oil, Grassfed Butter already, wondering what else is good for this fast. What do people eat on this and how much? How long do you fast for?

Edit: I should have mentioned that I'm trying to escape a health funk. I've done raw vegetable juice fasts and water fasts in the past with some success. I'm mostly looking to clear my head, get energy back and ease my stomach and digestion. I guess I wont know if this is worthwhile without at least trying...

I usually do macadamia nuts and/or avocado. Haven't done one in a long time but used to use them every so often when the weight loss would stall.

+1. I completely sympathize with the need to try something new and different for a 'reset,' especially if what one has done recently simply hasn't worked. I also like to get a clean slate once in a while just so that when I get back to eating 'normally' again (whatever that means to a paleo eater) then my reactions are more reliably observed, and my data better.

Why don't you want to tap into your own reserves and use that fat?

Macadamia nuts are the most palatable, but I have had some success in the past while IFing of having a small evening meal of ground beef, guacamole and fresh salsa and an ounce or two of macadamia nuts and the weight poured off and it helped to motivate me to keep moving toward my goal. I also love a few days of water fasting every now and then. It really provides great mental clarity, raises new questions, and seems to slow down time in a weird way. It's like a nice respite.

Heavy cream is great! (as AStar mentioned)

Dave Asprey recommends a fat fast in his "Bulletproof Rapid Fat Loss Protocol". But, as he says, it's important to supplement a lot of stuff you are not eating. He also recommends Betaine HCL "to help your body digest and emulsify the fat you???ll eat", which (for me) prevented any possible digestive distress caused by eating only butter (problem mentioned by Kelly).

And remember that a fat fast is a good protocol if it's a short term thing (as Karen mentioned). Dave himself recommends a carb refeed after 5 or 6 days of eating only fat.

Here is an article about fat fasting from Jimmy Moore http://livinlavidalocarb.blogspot.com/2006/09/fat-fast-for-few-days-to-induce-weight.html

It's a zero carb method to go into ketosis very rapidly. Notice that the article advises not to do it unless you've been unable to start losing weight, or restart after a long stall, by other means. Also that it's a short term thing.
