Vitamin C high dosage and cancer?

Came across a couple of articles mentioning the same thing. That high dosages of Vitamin C taken whilst dietary fat is in the stomach can turn some of the Vitamin C nasty and can become nitrosamines (a carcinogenic).

Recently i've been taking about 3-4 grams of Vitamin C, usually with meals. I know the body can only utilize so much of it before getting rid of the remain. Is it even worth taking more than 1 gram? Is there something plausible to this study? I know it's fairly old but i've never seen an article to oppose it.

Would it be better to take Vit C on an empty stomach? On the whole i've felt a lot better supplementing with it but was interested what other people think about this.
