'Sup with cellulite?

Four months paleo, so far I've lost about 12lbs (I'll follow up w my body fat % loss in a month from now), but cellulite is one thing I can't seem to track progress with. In fact, call me crazy, sometimes I feel that it's worse?

Is it true that even weight loss cannot help cellulite, and if false, do you find the paleo way to be successful in ridding this unfortunate cosmetic attribute?

Conrats! Weight loss won't help, but building muscle will. If you have cellulite on your butt and back of your legs, you need to build muscle there by doing ballet-type workouts (Physique 57 and Bar Method are killer). Or use gym equipment for hamstring curls and butt blasters and what not. Regularly change up your reps and sets and the order of exercises so you continue strengthen and build muscle in that area. Another thing that will help is consuming foods that will assist with maintaining and rebuilding connective tissue, like gelatin, bone broth, and MSM. Avoid sugar, which causes cross-linking and breakdown of collagen, which will make your cellulite look worse.

Oh, had to edit to add this: Vitamin C synthesizes collagen, and builds connections between amino acids and collagen, strengthening tissues. So make sure you're getting adequate amounts. Your best bet is to eat a lot of vitamin C rich foods, since your kidneys like to excrete pretty much all vitamin C if you take around 500 mg in one go.

Glad to have found this thread. Recently staring in the mirror in horror:(. Time to cut all sugar and squat fearlessly heavy.

Does skin brushing REALLY make a difference?

I've found that doing 90 reps of 45 lb. stifflegged deadlifts REALLY works out my hamstrings (where I have the most cellulite). I couple that with 145 lb. squats, 90x 40lb. lunges, and 90 frog jumps. Then either 30 squat jumps or tuck jump.

Point being, losing weight is not going to target any specific area. Build up muscle where you want to see a difference in your tone.

first off, you should determine what kind of cellulite you've got [there are 3] so, generally, cellulite is chronic but can be controlled: -you can see your dermatologist who can provide some ways to get some good results but they must be accompanied by a long term way of life: -you must eat well [ie low car/paleo/low glycemic etc.] -you must exercise with sports like corss country skiing/walking, trekking, walking in water but aquabike is a great way to keep cellulite low, if the dermatological treatment was not that successful or gone, if, on the contrary you responded very well with the massages and other techniques offered.

Naturally, consult a dermatologist is not mandatory [and can be expensive] but if you start with a bad case, you might want to give it a try.
