Low carb a good idea?

Hi all, I recently started experimenting with low carb, my level is now around 70g a day, from 100g my fat intake I am increasing to make up for the caloric defict due to less veggies, which is not hard as days are caloric dense. I do not make weight loss a goal but would like to bulk up in muscle, no weight loss is wanted at all, that is why I track to meet calorie goals. I eat 150g of protein on average, the rest is fat. I am male 5 11 and to my estimates 140 pounds wanting to be 150 pounds. In the long run is low carb bad? Should I reserve a "carb day" once a week to load on veggies?

For a healthy individual, carbs shouldn't be the main focus. You should focus on whole foods as much as possible and steer clear of Neolithic agents of disease like gluten, grains, sugar, and processed carbs. If you have no weight issue, I don't see any particular reason why you should do low carb. Tubers are an excellent source of healthy, non-processed carbs which you could exploit after workouts.

Yes, the zone of misery is actually advocated by a lot of people for some reason.

I think the middle ground is sometimes called the "zone of misery" where you get just enough carbs to never adjust to low carb but not enough to feel good so you always feel crappy. What amount of carbs that is will probably vary.

Well about starting tomorrow none for awhile as we're moving, plus before I did not do any except walk 3 times a day 25 min each.

Eating is generally a good idea...this covers all the bases...

Really? How is that? Plus, what would be considered middle carb?

Really, if you wanna do a refeed or not will be a function of what type and how frequent you train. Staying low carb is a good idea for health and good body composition, but just how low is going to be individual to you. Anything under 150g/day is still low carb and you usually would not have to worry too much about refeeds in the 100-150 zone.

What sort of exercise are you doing?

in general low carb IS a good idea, sometimes high carb MAY also be a good idea... and the WORST idea is 'middle carb'...
