Hack my cholesterol numbers after changing to an artery-clogging diet

Yesterday I went and got the most basic cheap lipid profile done at Labcorp and this morning got my results.

Total Chol 179 HDL 75 LDL 90 Triglycerides 72 Ration of Total/HDL 2.4

I eat bacon at least 4 days per week, a minimum of a pound of meat every day, and heavy cream in my coffee and for the occasional dinner dessert.

Oops. forgot the question. So is it possible that my numbers were better before switching to the artery-clogging diet, and that they have gotten worse? Unfortunately I have no real reference point from my 30+ yrs on SAD, but my blood pressure and resting heart rate have all improved on paleo.

I'm coo-coo for cocoa puffs! Actually, eating the whole grain cocoa puffs increased my blood sugar levels, damaging the fine capillairies in my brain and damaged my thinking, and that's what made me coo-coo.

Be sure to use skim milk on those Fruit Loops! And don't forget that Lucky Charms are also made with whole grains. Get thee to the cereal aisle!

LOL. I don't know, i don't know how to read blood work, but from listening to the others your levels are spot-on. So, yeah I was wondering if you also had a six pack, because then you would be like the paleo ideal poster child- perfect blood work, bacon heavy, meat heavy...oh, and a six pack.

Yes, and I am guessing they are large puffy, not small dense. But I am too cheap to pay for the more expensive test.

It was worth the $39 to find out my risk of being struck by lightning was an order of magnitude greater than developing Coronary Heart Disease

You are too funny!

Things I noticed:

Your HDL is too high. Cut the saturated fat and your HDL should drop.

Your trigs are too low. Add some heart healthy whole grains like Fruit Loops to get those trigs back up where they ought to be.

You don't want to live forever, after all...

So I was climbing with a guy yesterday, and we got on the subject of what we ate. I told him I ate at least a pound of bacon a week, about 2 dozen eggs a week, and at lease a pound of some type of animal flesh daily. He mentioned how bad that was for cholesterol. I told him my numbers that I just received, and he said I must be one of those people that just naturally has good cholesterol. I thought it was funny that he had to justify it.
