Can a higher carb, lower fat Paleo diet work for fat/weight loss?!

As I continue to experiment with my body and diet I have decided to incorporate some PHD into my personal version of Paleo. I've decided to cut back on adding fats, maybe putting a little on veggies, but getting the rest from the meat, avocado, nut, whatever...basically not drenching EVERYTHING in fat...and adding in more carbs (starches...sanz rice).

At my leanest (yes on C.W.) I was a moderate carb, moderate protein, moderate fat type person...the leanest I EVER was occurred when I was eating high carb, moderate protein, and almost no fat. I was also riding 6 horses a day, doing barn work, etc...so very low intensity exercise, but lots of it. I am thinking about trying to incorporate this(being what made me so lean) into my Paleo lifestyle...hence the question.

I've gotten to the point where I am no longer eating 4/5/6 times a day...I typically have 2 "feeding" sessions between noon/1PM and 8/8:30 PM (I end up getting hungry in the timeframe that works with Leangains). I eat a good amount of protein(around 130ish g. daily), and I never have over 100 g. of carbs a day (usually its between 40 and 70 g.)...adding in starches would put me probably around 100g. daily. Fat usually ends up around 100g

I'm also cutting back on Crossfit to see if it jumps starts some fat loss. SO my question is...

Can a higher carb, lower fat Paleo diet work for fat/weight loss?! What are your thoughts/experiences with adding/removing fats and starches?! Would this be counterproductive
