IF and feeding window?

I am trying to understand this whole IF thingy-- so bare with me. I wake up VERY early --3am and workout at abt 5:00amish. OK that said-- I have been trying to have an feeding window from 7am to 2pm--so IF lasts abt 17hours. Is that too long of a feeding window? Does anyone feel like they are OVER eating during their feeding window?

Sounds to me like you're workout out too much (stress hormones can equal weight gain). Drop the dairy and workout a bit less and see if that makes a difference.

I actually start work at 3am -- and take a break at 5am to workout. By time I get home from gym and shower--it is 7am

So far I feel bloated and FAT and I am pretty sure I have gained quite some weight (too scared to look at # on scale). I am goign to give this lifestyle some time to see if I can heal myself. I sleep VERY VERY well-- out like a light for 7 - 9 hours a nite.

I am actually just starting this whole lacto-paleo thing in the hopes of losing weight as well has healing my stomach. I was a non-red meat eater for the last 20 + years-- just started eating red meat again about 1 month ago-- when I started lacto-paleo. I workout quite a lot-- lifting for about 30mins spinning for abt 60mins and then at nite I usually do Bikram yoga for 90 mins--3 to 4 times a week. Other days so something for at least 1 hour.

I IF 16 hours a day and then allow myself to eat unrestricted proteins and fats for 8 hours. I find it easiest based on my 9 to 5 days to stop at 8pm and then resume at 12pm. To answer your question on over-eating, all I can say is try it. If your only eating strict paleo foods you'll fill up pretty fast.

Hey KL -

I wake up at 3am as well. I workout at 11am or noon and start my feeding window right after I am done working out. It usually last from like 1pm to 7pm or so and I go to bed at 8pm.

I think your window looks appropriate, but you start it about 2 hours after starting your workout. Might it be more appropriate to start eating RIGHT after finishing workout (if possible)?

As for overeating, I don't think I'm eating too much right now, but on my heavy lifting days I really eat quite a bit. Even so, I'm leaning out and getting much stronger at the same time....so I'm ok with that for now. It might change when I want to get really, really lean, but I'm not there yet. Right now I'm running through my 5x5 protocol and super squats programs so I would rather get through those before I start to really lean out.

A few generic questions for ya:

How are you feeling? What are your goals?
What are you eating in that window?
How much sleep are you getting? What's your workout plan?
