if i weight lift in the morning and fast till 5, is it not "optimal"? or the timing dont matter as long as i get the calories?(keep in mind im trying to build size, but trying to minimizing the fat gains for my bulk)

is it good for testosterone and HGH to fast after a workout?

IMO, our bodies need protein post workout. There have been several studies that show protein post workout has a significant (albeit statistical significant, perhaps not significant in the general sense) impact in muscle development. None of the other macros have seen as strong a connection. http://ajpendo.physiology.org/content/293/3/E833.abstract

For me, I hate eating post workout. I'm not hungry, and it just feels wrong to try to force feed myself.

I try to train fasted, and typically consume a 20oz protein shake post workout. For me this is a good trade-off, I get my protein, and need not consume copious amounts. I will then break my fast a few hours later when I get hungry. That being said, I think it is best to consume your nutrients from real food (so this is a bit discordant).

You have to find what works best for you. For me, protein shakes work, for you it might be a couple of eggs or some jerky.

The old me would have been petrified to not consume copious amounts of protein and carbs PWO. However, now I typically always train fasted and will usually continue the fast for a bit and just eat when I am hungry. I like the results I'm getting and I feel great. If you are currently getting good results, stick with it! Our bodies all different, doing some self experimentation will lead you to the best results. Good luck.
