For people that did or know anybody that did an extended water fast, do you recommend it?

I'm talking at least 10 days, though I'd like to try and make 14.

What benefits did you notice after? How long did they last? Did it affect your taste and appetite? What specific issues did it solve? How did you transition?

Thanks!

http://www.healthpromoting.com/clinic-services -I think doing such a lengthy fast under medical supervision (if at all !) would be wise. This place here seem to specialize in it although i cant really say ive reserached them at all nor would i recommend such a long fast as i think the benefits of fasting can be had with much shorter/diverse protocols. Ive heard this clinic mentioned but havent lookd into them much so proceed with caution and do some serious researching whatever method/protocol you do decide to do.

No, the effects kicked in after the 4th day. I don't want to scare you but don't do it. Just don't.

27 days sounds like pushing things too far- I'd aim for 10-14 days. I think anything past 20 will have the detrimental effect you described. When did things start going wrong? How were things at the 10 and 14 day mark? Btw, the after video is coming, though obviously by another author...

Same here---21 days. Little energy, constant sleeping, no great moments of clarity, etc. I think long water fasts may be very good for extremely sick people in certain cases. For most of us lucky to have good health, one day's fasting may be helpful now and then but no more more.

I made a 21 days water fast and I don't recommend it, it can be pretty dangerous and it didn't solve anything for me.

I did one for about 27 days. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. The absolute worst thing I have done in my life. It completely screwed up my digestion.

Eat every day, just make sure to eat good food.

Never done 10 days so can't recommend it, although if i had the time id do a month

I do 3/4 day fasts fairly regularly, about once a month, i mainly do it for spiritual purposes as it makes meditation & tripping awesomely powerful

Physically i feel it resets my body, im happier, my skin gets clearer, i can breathe deeper, think clearer, i can taste & appreciate foods much better afterwards, i know when im satisfied & when to stop eating, all my senses are heightened, things are just generally clearer, physically & mentally

I recently noticed when i play the guitar during a fast i can feel the vibrations so much more which makes me feel more connected to the instrument

I also find when im fasting regularly i don't catch whatevers going around despite being surrounded by sick people

I did 2 weeks several years ago; didn't really notice any particular benefits or drawbacks but then again it was more of an experiment than anything else. I did notice that it's true what everyone says about not being hungry after a few days in.
