In addition, a low FODMAPs-centered diet would leave you focusing on foods with short transit times through the gut, leaving the bacteria and yeast with less time to ferment, and less time for the food particles to putrefy. Might be worth a shot.

Yeah, to Sonya: Give your body a little while to adjust before worrying about it, but if it persists than you may for example need to do something like what shawnshine recommended, which was to take digestive enzymes, etc. Either your body just needs a little time to adjust to the new diet (not a health problem, just a short-term annoyance), or there's something that could be fixed or compensated for with how your digestion works (see if there's a particular class of foods you're having trouble with, such as FODMAPS, or see if something broad-spectrum like digestive enzymes helps)

What kind of vegs are you eating? I think the Brassica family causes more sulphurous-smeling farts. Also, google FODMAPS.

Sounds like you're facing a fermentation problem. Undigested food is remaining too long within your intestinal tract, and the residue allows bacteria to create gas (which is often putrid). I have noticed a huge reduction in flatulence after supplementing with digestive enzymes and betaine hydrochloric acid (HCl) with meals. I have to take about 3-4 with every meal to be safe. Otherwise, all Hell breaks loose. _ I use Now Super Enzymes, but I'm sure any brand will do. Good luck!

I had bad gas when I started eating paleo, after a week or so it went away. If I have a bad diet day my gas comes back the next day I begin to eat clean... I am not academic but for me it's linked to the times I eat like shit.
