Hack my ex-wife!!

Just received a text message from my ex-wife

"Can you have a word with [our son] about his current diet fad - I agree he should avoid wheat at breakfast as it does not agree with him but his appetite is so big that I cannot meet his calorie needs without bread/pasta in his diet. You need to put on weight - you look ill - the kids commented on it after this weekend"

My son is a very active, lean 14 year old (plays Rugby, Tae Kwon Do, skates...) and I've been talking about the paleo diet with him and his sister in general terms recently. They live with their Mum and I'm loathed to advise her on diet, and now she's kicking off.

Also, a few people have commented that I look ill since I've been paleo. I feel great, and my body is pretty ripped, but I have lost weight from my face which makes me look drawn and, well, unwell I suppose. Any thoughts on spot-bulking my face?

The "any thougths on spot bulking my face" was a joke! My (?British) sense of humour clearly doesn't translate so apologies for reducing your intelligence. I can't see why this question was closed other than the fact that 1, maybe 2 users, have taken exception to it. There are genuine questions in there, some users have had no trouble finding them and answering them.

Oh, please, all who think his question belongs here. "Any thoughts on spot-bulking my face?" I felt IQ points literally draining from my mind as I read that. The ex-wife angle has no bearing on the issue, except to illustrate that the two former spouses are still caught up in the marital dynamics. Not a unique situation; it happens. Not PH material.

Is your ex-wife having trouble supplying because of a fear of saturated fat? To keep the calories up, she needs to decrease the empty carbs and increase saturated and good carbs like tubers.

We only have so many options for choosing the "why" for closing a question. "Appears to be three questions in one" is not one of those options. If the author edits it down to one question I'd guess Patrick would be ok with re-opening.

ps...as for your face..I too have the same problem. I guess I just have a naturally small/thin face and aside from poofing my cheeks I don't think there's a way to change that. I do have to watch for dark circles under my eyes...that seems to make the whole thing worse. I use coconut oil on my face, make sure I get my sleep and that seems to help the most. Good skin makes for a healthier looking "face". Best of luck with all of this...Just "Keep calm and carry on" :)

why is this closed? it's a true question. asking for ideas on how to communicate with an unwilling ex and trying to keep your kids healthy. My suggestion is that if you can give her some information (Mark Sisson, etc.) and ask her to please read what you've learned to then make a judgement. It will take time, and i'm thinking that the more your kids are exposed to what's healthy they'll make better choices...and give THEM ideas on how to make it easier on mom as well to help her cope with the change in their eating. Eggs are about the best value out there..take advantage of them

i think the question is how do you co-parent with an ex who is anti-paleo.
