Is my treadmill good for anything anymore?

Now that I get my exercise from resistance training and full body movement/complex exercises, is there anything that is not chronic cardio that I can use this treadmill for? I definitely have some body fat to lose, but from what this site says running on a treadmill for an hour each day is not the best way to go about losing fat. So in an effort to overhaul the way I have exercised in the past, does anyone have any good suggestions for a paleo-esque (non-chroic cardio) treadmill work out two or three days a week to complement resistance exercise? Or should I just ditch the treadmill all together and unclutter my office?

To cold or to much snow? Get on that treadmill and sprint until you can't breath....repeat that 8 times and the treadmill becomes a wonderful tool.

High incline walking is even better. Help strengthen your entire posterior chain, and the easily Injured Achilles .

If you enjoy watching television, I think the argument could be made that watching television while walking on the treadmill would be better than watching it while sitting on the couch. Walking is always good.

I once saw someone at the gym walking sideways on the treadmill, crossing one foot in front of the other. After trying it myself, I thought this was a great martial arts or general balance exercise. Start walking, then transition to a side position, then to a backwards position.

What's been said already: tabatas and a treadmill desk. I love my treadmill desk! I prefer walking at .8 mph as it doesn't make me sore or tired. 1.0 mph seemed a bit too "aggressive", which sounds hilarious coming out of my mouth as a triathlon coach, kettlebell instructor, and boot camp owner, but I guess that's the point: the treadmill desk is not exercise, it's just a better alternative to sitting all day. You can even use your treadmill as a standing desk without walking on it.

Convert it to a desk, put it in your home office, and walk 1.0 MPH while you make calls, check email, etc. GREAT way to stay active and keep the treadmill from becoming a clothes rack!

do interval training on the treadmill... 40 secs 'sprints' 40 secs fast walk, then alternate... perfect crossfit/paleo workout... after a while you will find that your back gets hairier and, if you're lucky, your knuckles will start to trail the ground when you walk... but, don't go as far as buying a wooden club to woo your wife with..

good luck with paleo treadmill sprints, they'll bust yer balls

If you have a dog, it is a great way to give them some exercise on cold days.

You could use it for interval sprints, HIIT style, when the weather schedule doesn't permit otherwise.

it's great for tabata running. or for those days you want to go for a short run but can't make it outside. i also hear they make great places to hang clothes. :)

what about hill intervals? hard to do tabata on a treadmil b ecause by the time its up to speed, its time to switch! 20 seconds might feel like an eternity when youre doing tabata, but its not long enough for a treadmill motor to safely go from 4mph to 8mph or whatever. but longer intervals can still be good! just dont overdo it. and of course, walking while youre on the phone or watching TV is great.
