Does anyone do Cross Fit from home?

Does anyone practice Cross Fit from home or is it nescisary (or more ideal) to participate in a gym setting?

A gym membership isn't currently in my budget so I was hoping to gain some tips for starting Cross Fit from home. If it's not feasible, what are your favorite "at-home" fitness practices?

Thank You!

Yes pls body as gym advice! Bare lists of WODs are pretty incomprehensible to the uninitiated.

check this link out!: http://www.paradisocrossfit.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Comprehensive-Bodyweight-Workout-List-v1.5.pdf

great list of bodyweight crossfit-style workouts! all you need are a few dumbells if needed and a pullup bar (or go to a park near your house!)

in terms of strength, I only do bodyweight workouts with light weights up to 50pds total. I've seen great results... better abs, quads, biceps, triceps, omg my shoulders, total endurance.

also, check out Zuzka Light on youtube or bodyrock.tv

The owner of my old CrossFit gym started EP Lifestyle & Fitness with Sarah Fragoso of Everyday Paleo and also her husband John. I have heard wonderful things.

For me personally, the camaraderie was the biggest benefit, and this website has forums to make friends and check in with people.

I started Visual Impact with my husband - we use dumbbells and a pull-up bar plus body weight exercises. We also really liked Turbulence Training workouts in the past which were mostly body weight - I think there might have been TT workouts with equipment but at the time we were doing them we didn't even have a pull-up bar.

We have tried a lot of different programs because we eventually get bored no matter what we are doing. I would definitely suggest you check out EP LifeFit if you want a CrossFit style workout at home.

I do. It's very easy. Things you need...

  1. Space - Home gym, garage, yard, deck...whatever it might be.
  2. Weights - Dumbbells, barbells, plates, kettlebells, med balls, resistance bands.
  3. Misc. Equipment - Jump rope, ropes, bands, pull-up bar/beams, any cardio equipment

I can do CrossFit in my garage or inside on a low budget, any time a day and reap all the same benefits.

There are MANY workouts w/o weights that are killer. I've been involved with this stuff since I was 7 years old. Now, I'm 31. Still works.

Let me know if you really would like some info on using your body as a gymnasium...w/o any equipment.
