I've been exercising for the past few months and noticed that my BMI is about 20 which seems a little borderlne low and I've been losing weight without trying in spite of stuffing my self. I worry that I might end up underweight unintentionally... (more)
Well I've been taking in about 70-100 g protein/day and I thought that carbs combined with protein stimulate muscle growth. At least I can see and feel more muscle on me.
Lately, I've been doing 2 meals a day, both high in fat. I like to hit the gym or do some form of exercise in the mornings most days fasted, where I usually come home and eat afterwards in that recovery window. I came across a post where... (more)
I've been Paleo for quite some months now. When I was over in Haiti, I didn't eat Paleo for a week. I got back, had the runs, and now I'm back eating Paleo. It's been about a month since I was in Haiti, and I've had brain fog for the last 2... (more)

Inspired by this question about CrossFit, I'm wondering what people think about Body By Science, (in some ways, the polar opposite of CrossFit)? Broadly, BBS calls for a very intense, ultra-slow weights workout once a week, potentially lasting... (more)
I've just started eating Paleo (pescetarian version), in an effort to both lose weight and become healthy (after years of unhealthy eating including an eating disorder). I haven't had any issues so far concerning the diet, never count calories,... (more)
Hello.I'm basically very, very out of shape. Aside from hearing from what I consider trustworthy Paleo-oriented sources that HIIT exercises often give the best results, I don't really know much about exercising in general. I weight 280 pounds,... (more)
So, here's the thing. I am an avid, some would say extreme, exerciser. I am just one of those people that find something they like and then do the shit out of it. So, like 6 years ago I started working out on a daily basis (before that I did a lot... (more)
I love mountain biking. The last two weekends I have been out on my bike, for about four hours (with a few breaks) each time. It's quite intense exercise, but I feel capable and fine at the time. Afterwards, I get very hungry and eat a... (more)
I know my way around the gym, but I have tried so many things the past few years with no results! For awhile I was running 3-4 times a week, at least 3 miles each time with one longer run. Then the other days were Bodypump or a spin class or... (more)
I'm a 26 yo female. Up until this august I was extremely active (probably over doing it) and now I can't seem to do any type of extended activity without feeling wiped out. I took off a few months (just took it easy) and tried to focus on... (more)
I've been eating paleo for over a year. I lost a couple of kilos and seem to have plateaued at 59kgs even though I could visibly do with losing a few more. I would never go back to eating a SAD diet because my psoriasis and also some visible... (more)

Obviously I'm running this through my ignorant, modern-Western paradigm of beauty, but it's something I noticed a while ago. Gay men are generally in better shape than their heterosexual counterparts of the same age. Is it because men are... (more)
I have been on the Paleo diet since March 2013. I have been great except for one caveat, I am underweight and can't seem to gain at all. And also I am Vitamin D deficient. I saw a nutritionist and she told me I should not be exercising, but she... (more)
TLDR: I want to live a long time and stay in good physical and mental shape. How much exercise do I need, and what kinds are best? I'm not trying to lose weight. Let's not dwell on muscle mass right now either. I'm 28 years old, 6'2 and under... (more)
Three months into paleo and my weight loss has been plateauing for the last 3ish weeks. Just wondering if there are certain exercises that will speed up weight loss, such as sprints? What about cardio? Let me know about your experiences! Thanks! (more)
Many people who come to paleo are too sick to do intense exercise, for a variety of reasons. What are some low-intensity exercises these people could do, besides walking or swimming?
Hey everyone!! So here's my issue. I'm attempting to build muscle after being sick and losing a great deal of it. So far I've only been able to gain fat, 3lbs in one week. Most of the fat gain is around my mid section. Not attractive. ... (more)
I'm 5'4 and 115 pounds, and I want to put on weight. I don't do cardio, I only use a TRX suspension trainer. I'm only 13 so my metabolism is probably really high. How man times a week should I work out
If you are looking to gain weight through working out, you need to focus on 5-10 reps per sets to failure with moderate rests between sets to maximize hypertrophy. I would suggest about 3 days per week, and do compound exercises. TRX is great... (more)

I cannot believe one can eat too much pumpkin. There are paleo populations who eat 60% calories in sweet potatoes, nutritionally very similar to pumpkin, and they have no diseases of civilization. I think you are doing very well.
Hello all! I wanted to ask your advice on my situation. I have been adhering to a rather strict form of Paleo for the past 9 weeks. I have had no dairy and no grains in this period of time. My diet mainly consists of meat (steaks, chicken, and... (more)
Just a simple question/poll. Do you prefer a bodyweight-exercise program, like MovNat, or a barbell-training program, like Starting Strength or Stronglifts? Or, do you mix both? What are your programs like?
