Is it possible that by taking digestive enzymes too often, your body will come to rely on them and stop producing its own?

I've heard that too, and I think it would depend on the frequency and WHY you're using enzymes. I take them with difficult to digest meals (i.e. meat) because I have stomach issues (low acid, candida, leaky gut), and they've made an incredible difference. However, I wouldn't feel comfortable being on them for a very long period of time. I think they should be used in cases of a healing body to speed the process, and then slowly weaned of them once you're healed.
