Energy from Ginger Tea

Answered on August 19, 2014

I just made some ginger tea with hot water, lemon juice and fresh ginger, after which I felt a kind of energy shot

Is there any reason for this? Does anyone use ginger instead of caffeine for energy?

@Tony - I just mix it all together in boiling water then leave to sit until it reaches room temperature. I do add black pepper after it is brewed, as someone mentioned.

I do the same - fantastic. Add some black pepper into the brew: "Adding black pepper to turmeric or turmeric-spiced food enhances curcumin's bioavailability by 1,000 times, due to black pepper's hot property called piperine"

that's an interesting question... why do some tastes seem to 'perk you up' in the absence of calories or psychoactive chemicals? i dunno!

I always get sick after drinking ginger tea. Not sure why. Probably something in my system does not agree with it. Potent stuff.

Every morning I brew ginger, cinnamon, cloves, turmeric and raw honey - better than any energy drink. I drink this through out the day.
