Is it okay to increase my egg consumption?

Hello! I'm new here and have had this question in my mind about egg consumption for the past week or so. I've searched through a couple pages of past questions but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.

For a while now I've been eating 2 eggs (regular eggs, organic eggs are not an option for me right now) nearly every single day, along with a few 100% liquid egg whites (from a carton). I know eggs are wonderful for you. I don't have a problem with the fat or cholesterol content in them.

But there's this lingering doubt in the back of my mind preventing me from ditching the liquid egg whites and simply adding another egg to my diet. For some reason my mind is holding on to the "no more that 2 yolks a day" guideline.

Now, I'm not a 6'5, 250lb male who can chug a carton of eggs in one sitting and be fine. I'm 5'1, young adult female in the borderline healthy/mildly overweight range. I'm fairly active, exercise 5-6 days a week. Cardio about an hour a day as well as heavy lifting (on alternating of course).

Would it be a good idea to up my egg intake? (they would still be regular eggs)

Is there an egg limit I should adhere to?

I suppose what I'm really looking for is that extra nudge.

Hahaha my mother has her own set of jokes each time I pour out the liquid whites from the carton. I'm sure the two would get along very well :)

Wow, that's a lot of eggs! I tend to get bored with a food when I eat that much of it and end up ignoring it for a while.

@Dragonfly - Yes, that was one of the first threads I read. However, it did not answer my question because I'm not worried about the cholesterol content, I don't know the stats of OP, and I wouldn't be eating free-range organic eggs. I know the nutritional values vary between regular eggs and organic eggs. And eating an excess of regular eggs is probably not the best idea. But thank you for the input. :)

Yes there is an egg limit you should adhere to: no more than one dozen per day, since it is illogical to have to go back to the store to buy more eggs to eat the same day.

I would absolutely ditch the liquid egg whites (which always lead to disgusting jokes when my entire family is together and my mother insists on bringing them) and add an additional egg. Free yourself from conventional, misguided wisdom! =)

Egg yolks are a great source of choline.

I'm 5'3", active, and lost 15 pounds (or so) on 3-4 eggs + 1/2 to 1 whole avocado + spinach nearly every morning. My activity level was similar to yours. I have a clean bill of health from my doctor, and I feel great. Anecdotal, I know, but it works for me.

I agree with MathGirl72. Ditch the carton and eat the extra egg.

I would add that any food that is very rich with protein should be balanced with plenty of fiber rich veggies. Eggs can be constipating, at least for me.
