Hack my hangnails that go away when I eat lots of eggs.

I'm pretty sure that my hangails on my fingers go away when I eat eggs daily. When I take a break from eggs, they come back. What nutrient am I apparently lacking when I don't eat enough eggs? I don't think it's protein, because I usually eat meat on days I don't eat eggs.

Have you tried isolating the yolk and the white to see which one helps your hang nails? If it's just the whites then it's the protein, otherwise, daz is right in that it could be the biotin.

That's a good pointer. I'll have to try supplementing with biotin to see whether that's it. Thanks,

yolks are high in biotin which is supposed to be good for hair & nails (not sure about hangnails tho) http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/vitamins/biotin/

Sulfur is another possibility.

There is a product called Cuticle Therapy by Beautiful Nails Naturally. Go to gronails.com and you can call them. It has the essential oils that treat and stop hang nails that is inexpensive.

I haven't tried isolating the white and the yolk, but I'll do that. I also found out that sulfur is important for biotin conversion. Thanks, guys!
