Can I survive on eggs and kefir for 7 weeks?

So I'm working on a farm and making shit money (only $500 a month eeek!). I just found out that I'm going to have to get some work done on my car that is going to cost way more than I expected.

My internship only lasts 7 more weeks. One of the perks of the internship is that I get as many pastured eggs and as much raw goats milk as I want. So I'm thinking...do you think I could live off of eggs and raw milk kefir for that period of time? I desperately need to save money and food is very expensive where I live. I would also be able to supplement my diet with coconut oil, coconut milk (I have a ton of both left over since I buy in bulk) and some veggies from my garden.

Anyone have any thoughts on the health ramifications of such a diet? I'm young and robust.

Thanks!

7 Weeks, not days, but I still think with the garden veggies it would be ok

If s/he adds the potatoes in you can mash them, misx with an egg and fry into potato pancakes like my grandpa makes. :-)

No I haven't. It's good advice, and I would suspect it would help, but I'm happy having as many eggs as do, it keeps my diet more interesting. When it first occurred I was thinking, oh no, what am I going to eat now.... but I'm well over that.

Have you tried only yolks when the whole eggs start to get to you?

I survived on just eggs for at least that long...back when I was young and robust, lol. Could not do it now myself but I think you'll be fine. You'll also have a great story of fortitude to tell the grandkids or the others in the old folks home with you one day.

Have you looked into food stamps? You would certainly qualify at that wage.

You can survive on mountain dew and cigarettes for 7 weeks.

I think you would be fine and if you start to not feel well.. you'll be able to amend your food with some other things, right? Hey, is there anyone that you could do a mini-trade with? Eggs for some meat? Just a thought...

Sometimes at the end of the night, meat counters will highly discount old ground beef. Also, there are meat packs from Angel Food industries, although, apparently, they have fallen on hard times. I personally eat 8+ eggs per day, and love the heck out of them! And goat's milk is delicious! Another idea, bacon ends and pieces from Walmart, although bacon seems to have gone up in price recently.

people have lived pretty well on only milk for durations longer than this. Milk has a pretty impressive macro-breakdown so you'll have your carbs at least somewhat covered. With eggs in there too I'm sure you'll be fine.

Add some potatoes and butter in there and you pretty much have the diet of Irish people for hundreds of years.

You might get a little 'egged out' though, so be prepared to have to eat eggs when you reeeally don't want to.

Edited to add: Some liver once a week would help too!

If you start to get bad stomach aches, try only eating the yolks as people are more likely to react to the whites than yolks. I can't eat egg whites at all but I eat several yolks a day with no issues.

To answer your question, yes, you'll probably be completely fine.

P.S. I'm relieved that you didn't use the word "falsify" even once.

I don't see why not. Eggs are nutrient powerhouses, and anyway it's a short duration.

Also, if you're not feeling good after a couple of weeks, you could certainly add something at that point, right?

I'm going with the general trend here to say over a 7 week period you should be fine. Obviously raw milk and eggs are very nutritious.

However, personally, I need to rotate eggs in and out of my diet, if I have them every day for weeks they start to irritate my gut and really effect my digestion. I usually end up having a week on a week off, and during an on week on I only have them 3 times during that week.

Of course many people, whom I'm jealous of, have absolutely no issues eating huge quantities of eggs daily.

Make sure you're getting enough vitamin C. Depending on what exactly you grow in your garden, that could potentially be an issue. But supplements are cheap, and if you have even a little room in your budget for produce or you can utilize some sort of food distribution program, it shouldn't be a problem.

Since people can survive only on potato, then I think you can even thrive on eggs + kefir :)

Well this will probably be quite a life experience for you that you will learn from.

You should do fine for that period of time on those things. However, you can probably go to grocery stores or the farmer's markets and talk to the manager and tell them of your plight. They may be able to give you produce or meat that they can't sell.
