Getting dizzy and light headed on keto

I have been in ketosis for 3 weeks. I basically had zero carbs Saturday and Sunday and throughout the day yesterday I was getting dizzy when I stood up to the point I felt like I might faint. Last night i also started to get the shakes. I have a blood pressure monitor and glucometer and bp was about 140/70 and blood sugar was 90 so no problems there. I read various people say eat salt, eat potassium, eat carbs, eat fat etc if you feel that way. Well, i had about 1/4 cup white rice, some mct oil, some pink himalayan salt and a few dried appricots to cover all of those suggestions. I felt a little better but I went to sleep about 45 minutes later so don't really know.

Any of you with long term keto experience ever feel like that? Is it just adjustment period? Any suggestions?

Thanks. While I have been keto for the past 3 weeks based on urine stick tests I have been having some sweet potatoes and white rice. Not eating those every day and when I do it's one small serving on days when I'm active and I'm still around 50 g of carbs on those days. Most days I have only been getting carbs from other veggies and probably around 20 g per day on avg.

Today I've been drinking a lot of water with pinch of pink salt thrown in and I feel fine today.

Thanks for the links. I think yesterday I also wasn't drinking enough water. It was a lazy sunday watching football and I basically didn't feel terribly hungry or thirsty all day so I probably neglected that

I'm doing keto mostly to experiment/hack myself to see what benefits I do get. So far I have had more energy in generally and dropped from about 190 lbs to 175 in 3 weeks. I do want to lean out a bit and would like to get to about 10% body fat which for me probably means losing another 15 lbs. I have done a lot of research before starting and there are many experts that believe that everyone can benefit from keto and safely stay in keto permanently.

I have been eating about 2000-2200 calories since I started but probably did have much less over the weekend. I went on a 5 hour hike on Saturday. Had BP coffee in the morning but didn't eat at all until after the hike which was around 4pm because I wasn't hungry until then. Yesterday I had some bacon and 3 eggs in the morning and didn't eat anything else until 6pm because I wasn't hungry. When I did eat I had a can of wild salmon which was about 400 calories. So I guess I was obviously pushing my limits on calories over the weekend. I know the rice and apricots are not keto but I was just figuring that maybe I needed some carbs (in general I have just been staying below 50 a day). The apricots are high in potassium so that's why I had some of those because I read dizzy spells in keto could be from lack of potassium

How many calories are you taking in and why are you doing keto?

Also, I'm sure you know already but white rice/apricots isn't really keto, so I wonder why people were recommending that. you shouldn't be eating that stuff with the extra high fat keto calls for.

Unless you have some condition like Alzheimers or Autism or something that may possibly benefit from that, then I suggest you just stop eating such a high fat, VLC diet and eat like plenty of vegetables, some fruit (not necessary), some starch, and quality proteins.
