hack my weird feeling

Hi everyone,

I was unsure whether to post this question as I have been feeling quite weird lately and I am not exactly sure what's going on.

Some symptoms:

-stomach feeling odd a few hours after eating: I feel like I need to contract my upper abs, it's a strange feeling that I have a hard time to explain. I feel this is radiating to my whole body and I would like to contract all my muscles. So I don't have any spasms, I just feel as contracting would help.

-increased thirst and increased urination (waking up once every night lately to go to the toilet, last night twice)

-in the last week I had two sudden low-pressure events, feeling like I was about to faint. This was accompanied by nausea. Also I had a bit of vertigo. I also had sweaty hands.

-after the fainting feeling my breath became bad and felt like a ketoacidosis breath (ketosis should not give a bad smell I suppose?). Also I had to drink a lot of water afterwards. Note that both time dehydration should not have occured as I had drank plenty of fluids but I realize that I have peeing a lot more than usual lately.

Basically it looks like my body is getting super dehydrated even if I drink a lot of water.

I train 5 times a week (4 jiu jitsu sessions, 2 crossfit sessions).

I have been paleo since october. Low-ish carb.

Some recent changes: I upped my carbs a bit in the last two months as I also upped my training (going from 3 days to 5 days). So basically I eat one/two fruits a day and 4 days a week a few potatoes or sweet potatoes. Also lately I have been restricting high histamine foods as I'm histamine intolerant.

I supplement with magnesium and vit D.

/edit: I am also getting a strange feeling with my voice as if it was deepening a bit

I was thinking more along the lines of possibly getting too much vitamin D, but given your intake that seems unlikely.

I will try upping my carbs. I have not seen a doctor yet as this has only happened very recently and seldomly (the low pressure thing has happened twice). I am upping my carbs and adding salt, but will go see a doc as well. As for the Vit D, I am probably not taking enough (only about 800IU to 1200IU, but it's also summer here and I try to get a little exposure everyday).

Add coconut water for electrolyte replacement.

Also I must say that I have upped my salt intake but I have removed bacon from my diet because of the histamine so I have now been consuming uncured (hence no salt) bacon.

Your symptoms are awfully consistent with overtraining. You are training a lot, especially considering what you are eating. Your carbohydrate intake sounds inadequate. A few potatoes four times a week, plus a couple of pieces of fruit is nothing.

How much vitamin D are you taking?

Are you eating any seafood?

Finally, and very importantly: have you seen a doctor?

I've had that vertigo/fainty feeling. It's usually a clue that I need to carb and salt up a bit more. I've learned I do not do overly well low carb (sub 100g). It's something to try.

You are low on electrolytes, and drinking more water without taking on more electrolytes is just going to deplete you further. Eat a banana, have some potatoes, and add a lot of salt to things for a while to see if you feel better.

If you need an instant fix and are feeling dizzy and faint right now, put a large pinch of unprocessed salt on your tongue and slowly drink a glass of water.

Fresh vegetable juice will also help.

I had similar symptoms and it turned out to be h. pylori and low stomach acid. Go see a doctor.

Stomach feeling funny? Faint? Dizzy? Peeing a lot?

Sounds like you are pregnant! ;-)
