How important is Food Variety

I eat a pretty monotonous diet. I do try many things when they are available however my regular, day to day food is consistent and reliable. Is variaty really a big deal, banking on a burn out of the same ol foods

Chapa - You didn't do anything wrong. PaleoPlay asked this question 48 minutes ago. I read this article on Mark's site several hours ago and thought PaleoPlay was going to make it into a question. But then when I clicked on it I saw that instead he made it seem like these are his (or her?) words.

OK. I don't want to argue. He only repeated the question and paraphrased the text. I wouldn't call that a rip-off but not an issue for me either way.

Sorry- I posted the link. I thought it was interesting that on the very day PaleoPlay asked this question, I had the article from Mark Sisson in my inbox. Thought it would help.

He should have given Mark the head nod and all would be fine. You don't just copy/paste another author's words like that and pretend they are your own. That is why I asked PaleoPlay to explain.

It's an exact rip-off Harry. That's kinda lame.

Mark had the same question today. But it is an interesting one. What's wrong with asking it here?

Looks like the above question is directly poached from the link.

Tracking my food has shown me that my core foods are quite stable from day to day. However, I use them in a variety of ethnic dishes and styles of cooking with many additions of other ingredients. Variety is very important to me. So is creativity in cooking.

I eat variety, grass fed beef, free range chicken, duck, tuna, turkey, venison, eggs, pork, Spring water with fresh lemon or lime slices, organic greens, and salad veggies and a few berries now and then. I have insulin resistance. Until my BMI is good, I will continue to do what the research by Gary Taubes has shown. Then I will add graudually other stuff.

I would say that mostly depends on how much variety is included in your daily routine. What do you eat?

'Variety' isn't particularly important but getting adequate nutrients is, and if all you eat is beef, broccoli and coconut oil you're going to be deficient in plenty.
