Daily protein requirements for body mass?

What are daily protein requirements for an average person, not bodybuilder?

In gram per Lb or Kg of body mass, minimum and average for long term heath maintenance.

I saw requirement of 1g of protein per 1 Lb of body mass, for thin person it's 160 g/day, for overweight 200g/day. Counting rougly 20g of protein in 100g of meat (1/5), to get 200g of protein a person should eat 200x5=1000g of meat a day!

 "There are no hard rules" is not actually the information I'm looking for :) .

I'm currently on Autoimmune Paleo diet.

It will not be much I would guess.  I get about ~120g a day and I lift weights and run.  I weigh ~175 currently and have decent muscle.  I like getting away with less protein if possible because it's expensive.

Vegans say you need less protein, like 55g/day.

Use 0.6-0.8g/lbs instead.

There are no hard and fast rules. Macronutrient ratios are a zone not a precise number. 25% protein is as good a number as any, which is 500 calories a day on a 2000 calorie feed, which is 125 grams. But you'd be good at 20% or 30% too, which gives you a window of 100-150 grams.
