What I eat currently and how I can improve it?

Hello,

I have been on the paleo diet for the past week and was wondering on how to improve it. Currently, I am eating two meals a day from Pete's Paleo, about a gallon of raw milk a day, and about a few cups of berries a day (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries etc.) I feel I am drinking too much raw milk and want to bring it down to perhaps a glass or two a day but I don't know what else to implement in it's place. I was thinking of perhaps adding a very easy to make meal on top of the two paleo meals that I could use everyday. Any suggestions? Thank you

Thanks man that helped alot! Pete's Paleo keeps me satisfied for about 2/3rds of the day so I fill up the rest with raw milk and berries. I will add that third meal and cut back on the berrie. How much berries are ok? I'm for sure going to turn this milk into kefir and perhaps have a glass a day with breakfast, sounds like a great idea! I'm 6 5' at 240lbs so I am a pretty big guy.

I wouldn't go drinking a gallon of coconut milk or almond milk--you'll overload yourself with Omega 6. If you switch out milk for these, go easy on them!

I had to look up Pete's Paleo--looks pretty tasty. That's some good food. But it sounds like it's not ENOUGH food for you, so you are trying to make it up by drinking your calories in the form of a whole gallon of milk. Plus, that's a lot of berries.

What about adding a third meal of nutrient dense foods--eggs with veggies cooked in a generous amount of coconut oil would be a great adjunct and easy to make even if you're not too comfortable in the kitchen (my daughter learned to make omelets at the age of 8!). Frittatas (made much like an omelet except you put it in the oven) and egg muffins (eggs and veggies into muffin tins and bake) are easy too. Add some Paleo sausage or bacon. Make sure you use plenty of fat--not sure how much on the Pete's meals.

If you still want to do dairy, how about fermenting some of the raw milk to yogurt or kefir so you have some good probiotics going on? That will increase the nutrition of your dairy intake. Once you obtain some kefir grains it's extremely easy to make kefir (5 minutes a day, max), and a great thing to use some of that raw milk (lucky!) for.

Milk is not Paleo, Primal maybe, but not Paleo. Replace with almond milk or coconut milk if you must drink some kind of milk. But real Paleo food is far better, try eating some meat, fish, poultry, veggies, fruits, good fats and nuts instead.

This is the only Paleo version I ever saw that recommends so much berries and milk. I don't know where you got such recommendations. This is the one I'm following; http://eugenia.queru.com/2011/10/20/how-to-make-free-healthcare-cheap/#update2
