35 yr old male. 27-29 BMI. 172 lbs. Eating between 1600-1800 calories a day. I eat very clean, all meats, veggi and evoo, very small amounts of cheese. I drink about 70 onces of water but it flairs my heart burn really badly. I also drink coffee and teas. Neither effect my heart burn. I'm stuck. I've tried doing 1500 calories for 6 months nothing. I've tried 2500 calories nothing. I've done tapout xt for 90 days still wearing size 36 jeans. I walk 3 Mike's or elliptical for 20 miles with resistance. I can't lift due to combat injuries.
I'm stuck. Help

http://www.charlespoliquin.com/ArticlesMultimedia/Articles/Article/864/Lose_Weight_For_Summer_Top_Five_Supplementation_Ti.aspx To help repair our intestinal lining and improve immune health we also did the 80g of glutamine per day. First day wasn't so good but felt fantastic after. But seriously the fasting works wonders http://vimeo.com/50912488 watch this video. Or read this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19112549. I've been monitoring 5 women 27-55 yrs they are all fasting two days per week, some are more active than others. They are all down in body fat only some over 14kilo

I am not saying he is, I am saying it is a possibility if he is not breaking down food and absorbing food (IE heart burn from lack of stomach acid) I don't exactly see how that would be foolishness at all... unless you care to go into more detail.

3 oz gives me trouble. I'm trying to eat small meals every 3 hrs. My calories are very random now (3 months now). The ranges are from 1600 to 1800. Trying to eat 60-80 fat. 20-35 protein and 10 or less in carb.

I just have to be cleared by the doc for weight lifting. She wants me to drop 20 lbs first. Then xray the mesh. I'm in a catch 22. Only thing I havnt tried is probiotics any foods I can eat to get it. I've done the apple vinegar trick....let's just say no go.

I'd seriously consider the Sprint 8 protocol if I were you.

Not 20 miles on elliptical...20 mins ....writing this on my phone. Through my dietitian I've cut water for 30 days didn't matter. Same with fish oil Water causes the flair ups. I'd like to lose 20 lbs or 1 or 2 pant sizes. Should I add mire milk products like cheese and yougurt or a probiotic...

Steel mesh in stomach any heavy lifting bending hurts. My cheaply elliptical has a 1 ft stride instead of the usual 18 in stride

If water causes heart burn, I would say you have a low amount of stomach acid. Water should not have a negative effect on your health...

Recommend you look into some Digestive Enzymes, or HCL to address that issue. (I use Now foods ones)

Coffee also has a negative effect on how much stomach acid your stomach produces.

There is a book if you are big on reading called "Why stomach acid is good for you" its a great read and very informative. Highly recommended.

Can't lift because of injuries but can walk on an elliptical? Can you go into a bit more detail?

Also if you are not digesting food very well, it will put in your body into a starvation mode because you are not getting what you are eating thus affecting weight loss as well. So that is where I would start.

Try intermittent fasting, I'll have people do two 24 hour fasts if they are carrying a lot of fat (your waist measurement is the best indication of that). If they are leaner maybe just 1 24 hour fast or for the very lean we just skip breakfast and eat late in the afternoon. Fix your digestion, look into some good probiotics, and supplement with omega3 if you are not eating wild meats and fish. Find out what your limitations are and if possible work on fixing them so you can return to weightlifting. Until then sprint on the elliptical.

Eating only meat, veggies and EVOO? Have you tried adding some carbs? E.g., white potatoes, sweet potatoes, whole fruit, etc. You might look into Kiefer's carb nite or carb backloading.

Fish oil supplement might help by improving your omega6/omega3 balance. Some form of cyclical calorie restriction/IF might help, e.g 1400 calories one day, 2000 calories the next, instead of a constant level. Make sure you don't snack between meals, or if you do, only on fats.

As others said, water shouldn't give you trouble, but 70oz is a lot so if that much gives you trouble, drink less.
