I had an intestinal resection procedure done about 4 years ago and ever since then, I've had to go the bathroom between 3-8 times/day (depending on my diet and SIBO).
Through following this diet and eating 2 big meals on the opposite ends of the day (urge to go is triggered by eating), I have been able to get it down to 3x/day. Since my ideal is 2x, I have taken to using Imodium as well.
While this did the trick for a week, I have since experienced constipation issues caused by it, and they are not fun! lol
I'm currently experimenting with peppermint tea to see if it will slow down the peristalsis waves but other than that what else can I do?

I have read that there is an association with too much serotonin (neurotransmitter) and IBS. I think I also read that serotonin and dopamine are kind of like a see-saw - as one goes up, the other goes down. Maybe there is something in this for you.
