Ladies: What diet works best for you?

So I'm a newbie and figured it would help to get a poll of what works best for most women. It seems like paleo is usually high protein and fat, low carb. However, from what I've read, it seems women don't usually do too well on low carb diets (unless you are overwieght). So just let me know what your main source of calories comes from.

Personally, I started paleo to balance my completely out-of-whack hormones. After looking at my livestrong app, it seems I'm high fat, mod protein, low carb... This is after two days of using the app and a month on the diet (month not including cheating over the holidays :)

Has anything specific helped you balance your hormones?

Sounds good! I think I'm going to start eating more carbs... Right now I'm at about 30 grams/day which felt like a lot but now seems way too little! Thanks!

I tried low carb for a long time and at first I felt amazing. Loads of energy, clear head, able to exercise intensely no problem! Fast forward a year and if started to feel like complete shit. Tired, weak, started to gain weight. I thought that meant that maybe I was reacting to something in my diet when I wasn't being as safe as I usually was, so I got even stricter with my diet and I started suffering from anxiety (totally new) and extreme fatigue. I had to take time off work to regroup because suddenly I couldn't handle the regular day to day stress. I started digging around about how low carb can really mess with women's hormones, and started to add in some more carbs especially on workout days. Wow, talk about a massive difference. For me, I've found I need at least 100g of carbs a day, and much more when I'm exercising intensely. 100g of carbs from starches like sweet potatoe and some fruit have really made a huge impact on me mentally. N=1 too low or too high carb and I get anxious, which I never had a problem with prior or being low carb for a long period of time.

100g of carbs 80g (minimum of pro) try to stay around around 40g for fat For a long time I did under 50g of carbs, and it threw off menstruation for 2 years.

50, pre-menopausal. ~3 lbs from maintenance.

I'm doing great on a keto diet after 3 years of low carb (70-100 gm/day) Primal eating. No hot flashes or other peri-menopausal symptoms. No insomnia as long as I avoid wine/alcohol in the evening.

I eat ~60 gm of protein, under 40 gm carbs and fat to satiety.

Took me 2 months to keto-adapt and now I have consistent energy and greater clarity of thought.
