my favorite word is "beaver". Doesn't matter in what context it's used, it always makes me smile.

yes but what does "60-65% of my calories from fat" mean, how much is that? so just to simplify this even further, if i purchased a bottle of butter or ghee, how much should i consume a day... just looking for a simple answer.

And just to be clear, how much fat are you eating now. Just eating tablespoons of fat is not normal or probably not what you want. Are you getting at least 25% of diet as fat? That for me is really the low end, and obviously most paleo folks go well above that.

Interesting. Perfect Health Diet says this is a symptom of going too low w/ carbs - http://perfecthealthdiet.com/2010/11/dangers-of-zero-carb-diets-ii-mucus-deficiency-and-gastrointestinal-cancers/ Can you give me an example day's breakdown of macro nutrients.

Your limiting activity to focus on digestive health? Exercise helps intestinal motility. And, it's not like you can't multitask.

im trying to achieve optimal health, i have alot of dryness in my body ie dry skin, dry nose, dry throat etc.. im limiting activity right now so i can focus on my digestive health. i heard increasing fat intake can help with dryness throughout the body as well as lubricate the digestive system making it more effective.. i just dont know much ghee or butter i should incorporate. i dont want to do too much nor too little

There's no need to add extra fat/oils, just cook with them. Nothing needs to be swimming in fat/oil, neither need things be completely grease-free.

My favorite word... "context".

There is no answer to that question. We need to undestand the context.

What are you trying to achieve, what are your goals, where are you at right now? How much activity do you do, etc.

I usually get about 60-65% of my calories from fat every day. All from a variety of sources obviously, but it's so nice to be able to enjoy fatty meals, be satiated for hours and hours and not have to sweat the small stuff.
