I have just come across it in a magazine and it seems like ANOTHER paleo/primal book however the foreward warned that it wasn't ANOTHER paleo book.

The link is here

I'm just curious.

It was only a matter of time before someone named something "The One Diet."

Thanks for the link. That saves some money for an extra book. And yeah, just looks like another paleo diet with hard cheeses added in small amounts (so, primal then).

Hi Simon Shawcross here co-author of The ONE Diet.

The ONE Diet certainly fits under the paleo/ primal/ ancestral umbrella. The link MrsD provided is to a very brief "In a Nutshell" breakdown of the weight loss section of the book. Starches are addressed elsewhere in the book and encouraged for some (I eat moderate amounts of potatoes, sweet potatoes and white rice).

Cheese, milk and dairy products are covered in the book too leaving options open to the individual.

The core difference that Doug McGuff was referring to in the Foreword about not being another paleo book is perhaps the equal focus given in the book to the psychology of nutrition, weight loss and living in the modern world.

Anondson, thanks for the twitter follow!

Simon

I'd been following The One Diet through twitter since last August when I joined twitter to follow all the Paleo personalities. The One Diet started following me, shrug, I followed back. Seemed a rather irregular twitter poster, but very Paleo-friendly in subject matter.

The One Diet changed its twitter handle to Simon's own name only recently. I think that was a wise move. I considered buying the book back when I was devouring books on Paleo. I might get it someday soon when the book bug hits me again.
