Can you recommend a well-researched book on cancer-prevention/treatment diet?

I have two close family members who were diagnosed with stage IV cancer over the holidays. I am interested if there are any specific books you would recommend that were written with primary focus on a cancer treatment diet and/or a cancer prevention diet, beyond the broader-spectrum Paleo books. IS CANCER INEVITABLE, NO MATTER WHAT?

I'm very sorry to hear it. I lost my mother in 2009 to this beast. My heart goes out to you, and the OP. It is vicious indeed, and it's extremely difficult for everyone involved. Please take good care.

There is an overwhelming amount of info out there, and I think these are worth checking out too - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0758202210/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i02 http://programs.naturalnews.com/Cancer_Solutions%20-%20Medical%20Truths%20Revealed__TV.htm http://programs.naturalnews.com/Charlotte_Gerson_Live__TV.htm http://www.mumsnothavingchemo.com/ http://www.tbyil.com/anticancer.htm http://www.canceractive.com/ Easier said than done, I know, BUT - do not panic and do not give up. I've read a lot of books on cancer diets since my father was diagnosed a while ago and this one is probably the best, though that isn't saying much unfortunately.

I have, and have also been cancer-free (breast) for the last 14 months in large part (I believe) due to adopting a ketosis diet - the blog is a useful resource in general and the link refers to a vid that gives most of the info you need. The book, albeit not very professionally written, is quite informative too. I'd also say that I know of many people who have had great success veg juicing with coffee enemas (Gerson Therapy), but this is a very different approach to ketosis. I'd also recommend researching Dr N Gonzalez and the cancer-related videos here - http://programs.naturalnews.com/ xx

I am also wondering, though, if fruit doesn't fuel cancer cells?

I don't agree with his recommendation on soy, but much of what he says is inline with paleo.

Unfortunately, the doc passed away in 2011 of his cancer :(

It's not paleo related, but a really great one is called The Gerson Therapy. It's all about a man from the 40s who believed that cancer can be prevented/treated/cured through diet and only took a holistic approach. His daughter has carried on his practice and they've cured many patients, even terminally ill ones, through a method of juicing. It's more complicated that that, and there's also a documentary on it called The Gerson Miracle. I highly suggest both!

Hi Lyndsay,

I'm sorry to hear about your family members.

I have not read this book before but it is something you might want to take a look at and decide if it has the info you are looking for.

The "Perfect Health Diet" book contains a lot of cancer-specific nutrition advice.
