I'm not overly scientific, but was hoping some of the bright PaleoHack minds could chime in.

Any one read this yet? Thoughts either way?

Ahahahahaha! Oh my god this is one of the silliest things I have ever seen. Actually I have seen many equally silly things in principle, however this is the greatest in presentation.

  1. Nobody in the history of the universe has eaten a "fish oil diet" that is beyond silly.

  2. All of these silly critter studies make the same fallacy. There is no such thing as eating "saturated fat", all fats like lard contain multiple types of fats, all including omega 6 linoleic acid. You will get insulin resistance if you eat too much omega 6 without balancing it with omega 3. Take these rats: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3303333 No insulin resistance when you eat BOTH.

3.Paleo people are advised to eat BOTH saturated fat AND omega 3 fat. You can't fault the saturated fat for being associated with an omega 3 deficiency.

Interesting study, but these are mice we are talking about and have not evolved to consume anything similar to a diet solely containing fish oil or saturated fat. Under the saturated fat diet they consumed mostly lard...mice don't eat lard! I don't understand why scientist keep undertaking these studies. Who cares how their body handles lard consumption, humans will probably handle it differently.

I would like to see the comments, if Lard was the winner;-)
