Does anyone know what this digestive problem could be?

sorry if this is an inappropriate place to ask, but you guys seem to know a lot about anatomy.

i just started the paleo diet a couple of weeks ago and everything was fine until recently. for the last 3 days i've had really frequent diarrhea (once every hour) and it's far different from any diarrhea i've had. it's mostly a brown, odorless mucus. what accompanies the diarrhea is a little more concerning. when i'm on the toilet, it feels like a big, nornmal stool is coming out but it's actually my sphincter/rectum protruding and i have to resist the urge to strain.

does anyone know what kind of gastroenteritis usually results in odorless mucus? and are prolapses usually serious or could they be temporary problems caused by frequent diarrhea?

Sounds like. http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/steatorrhea Maybe you're not good at digesting fats?

Please see a doctor.

I have had similar symptoms. So has my father. HE had to be rushed to the hospital (from the middle of nowhere) because his ulcer perforated and he basically had stomach acid being pumped through his bloodstream. Mine hadn't perforated... yet.

IT IS NOT WORTH IT. EVEN IF IT IS ONLY A 5% CHANCE IT COULD HURT YOU... IT IS YOUR LIFE. LIFE. LIFE. I can't stress that part enough.

you might have gotten a bacteria and need some stool tests done. see a doctor because it could get out of hand.

It could be hemorrhoids due to the strain of so much diarrhea,or you could have a prolapsed rectum, but that does not take care of itself, it is basically a hernia that needs repaired. The mucous sounds like inflammation, and it will need to be evaluated. So, like everyone else, the best thing you can do is go to the doctor. Good luck!

Who knows? Go to the hospital and give a stool sample. It could be SIBO(small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), Candida Albicans(intestinal yeast overgrowth), leaky gut syndrome, FODMAPS, Some type of food intolerance(gluten, lactose or fructose).Chron's or IBS. Take probiotics, eat bone broths and lacto fermented foods like kimchi, kombucha tea and kefir. Good luck, i hope everything turns out okay for you, stay positive :)
