Hungry For Change Movie

Answered on August 19, 2014

Has anyone seen this?

Hungryforchange.tv , the movie is free until March 31.

It really tends towards the raw vegan Paleo side, but there are a few mentions of low carb and "high quality animal products.". A whole section on juicing and detox.

Daniel Vitalis talks about the "hunter/gatherer/gardener" paradigm, which is interesting.

Thoughts?

V*gan paleo isn't an oxymoron at all, paleo isn't about eating animals, it's about eating foodsthat are good for us, foods that we tolerate well. Don't get me wrong i would never go v*gan but on the flipside paleo isnt exclusively about eating meat.

I did get the "what the bleep do we know" vibe from it as well. I thought it did get kinda "woo" at the end, but the two guys that lost a lot of weight did it on an Atkins style low carb.

I chose to not watch HFC on the basis that it is a sequel to FM.

Did you watch HFC, or is this just a review of the other movie?

That's good to know. I had completely brushed it off on the basis of it being a sequel to Food Matters.

I tried watching 'Food Matters', of which 'Hungry For Change' is a sequel, and when some hippie drones on about the vegan "living enzyme" religion, I quickly lose interest. It's kinda like Mercola: he's not 100% wrong, but he slings enough hype and bullshit that it's just not worth the bother of trying to sift out any valuable nuggets.

Just finished watching, It is not like food matters. Yes there is some vegan talk and some juicing discussion, but it is more lifestyle biased. It is very paleo-centric without using the paleo moniker. I would say it is styled after the movie "What the BLEEP do we know" but whith food and health as the subject instead of quantum physics. I liked it and I believe it would be a great intro to friends and family on why we paleos live the way we do.

Isn't that an oxymoron to say "Vegan Paleo"? The Paleo diet is all about eating animal, and the Vegan diet is all about NOT eating animal... So what in the world is Paleo Vegan?

Clean eating seems more important -- organic, kosher, free range, grass fed, wild-caught, lots of fiber-rich, high-water content, low sugar, ample protein, pure foods, raw or cooked... Fish, beans, veggies, fruits, olive oil, and minimal starch. All fruits & veggies are nothing but complex Carbs, and carbs get a bum rap--it's the simple STARCHY carbs that are bad, not complex fiber rich carbs...

Juicing takes away the skins and pith and the all-important FIBER, so you get way too much sugar rushing in and no bulk or fiber, so I'm not at all sold on the juicing craze that's as old as Jack La Lane...

Loaded with bullshit and pseudoscience. Perfect for those who love "The Secret" and "What the bleep do we know?"
