Dizziness and water kefir, what is the real cause?

So, I've seen if speculated that dizziness after drinking even small amounts of water kefir is from a die off/detox effect. But is this really true?

Could it be something like histamine intolerance? The body reacting to a bunch of bacterial invaders, even if they are beneficial strains? Sugar rush? Alcohol intoxication? A weird combo of all of those things?

I'm curious to know your thoughts/experiences on this.

I let the pineapple juice batch ferment for another 24 hours, and was able to drink 16 oz. of it without any issues, maybe it was a sugar thing.

I suppose it could still be fructose malabsorption issue, that wouldn't show up in a glucose reading.

I've noticed it when testing some of the batches. It is like an instant hangover feeling. I tested my blood sugar a few times last night after having a big glass of it, and no noticeable spike, so I'm thinking not so much a sugar issue. I'm now thinking that maybe some of the batches might have more methanol than others, which isn't really a good thing to ingest in any quantity. The headache/dizziness seemed most instantaneous after trying a pineapple flavored batch.

I drink wine 3-4 times per week, and have never felt dizzy from it (well not without drinking way too much). I'm starting to wonder if my brewing it with brown sugar and molasses, followed by pineapple juice, tangerine juice, or raspberries, might be causing methanol to be forming in addition to the normal amount of ethanol in it for some reason.

Sounds like maybe low blood sugar or dehydration or something if you're getting dizzy. Can you give more details?

It is very strange, I worked my way up slowly, and still really want it almost every day. Some batches I don't notice it at all, and other batches, instant head rush/dizzy/headache feeling.

I LOVE water kefir and never get dizzy. I have several glassfuls each day. It is almost always carbonated, a key reason why I began making it. Currently I am making ginger ale and have raspberry 'pop' in the fridge. Totally love it! I know it is a powerful drink but so far I have only great things to say about it.

Sorry, I can't help as my water kefir has never made me feel dizzy.

My desire for it does fluctuate though and that might be relevant. If I'm very thirsty for it, and it tastes delicious, I'll have a small portion of the fresh water kefir and a tall glass of carbonated on a given day.

But if I take a swallow and I feel a "yuck" response I don't drink any that day. Because it's a powerful probiotic, I believe you can drink too much and may need an occasional break from it.

Some days I use lots of ice or drink half water kefir, half carbonated water.

iv never gotten dizzy at all

do you drink alcohol much? If not, it could be the slight buzz of the alcohol depending how long you are 2nd fermenting for.
