thoughts on avocado?

So I'm looking to add avocado into my diet. I just eliminated nuts which counted for the majority of my fat calories. How much is too much? I do restrict calories as it is so I am not planning on consuming more than 1 a day. I heard some stories about it stalling loss or causing weight gain so I am kind of skeptical.

I recently discovered my stomach reacts adversely when I eat a whole avocado... like immense stomach pains, so I'm going to try reducing to half an avocado and see how I handle that. Otherwise I love avocado.

Fruit forming the basis of a diet? Hmm... any science for that one?

"Animal proteins, and fruits, because they contain the lowest levels of toxins, should form the basis of the diet. Not all fruits, of course, are perfectly safe--avocados, for example, contain so much unsaturated fat that they can be carcinogenic and hepatotoxic." -Dr. Ray Peat a.k.a. "The King"

I have 2-3 avocados a day (seriously). I feel great. I honestly wouldn't worry about the calories, if I were you.

I usually eat an avocado a day although I follow a 1200 Kcal diet. I love it for the taste, the monounsaturated fat, potassium, fiber...

I usually have an avocado for quick simple easy breakfast when I don't feel like cooking. I eat them with just a little salt and pepper.

avocadoes are AWESOME! and best enjoyed as guacamole... 1 avocado = about 320calories. just account for that if you are afraid of weight gain but otherwise enjoy!

also, think of coconut oil as additional fat source. fat is GOOOOOD!!
