Need a clever comeback...

Answered on August 19, 2014

So my ex-trainer (whom I left for Crossfit, although I told him it was "personal reasons") just posted this video on facebook http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Z2b2x6C5o0&feature=youtu.be I worked out at his gym for 2 years, never got results I wanted.

Should I rise to the bait and make some smart-ass comeback about how hot I've been looking lately since I started paleo + crossfit? Or just be the bigger human being and not comment on it?

I'm sure the Jewish members of this forum find a video of Hitler hilarious too. Also interest to another person does not make it relevant for the forum. I did not downvote it and since I am not a moderator here, the powers that be can arbitrate. There are many people following Paleo that do Crossfit. Correlation does make it forum appropriate anymore than the Paleo/Politics bullshit

JAR JAR... it has to do with Crossfit and is of interest to at least one other person here, so it qualifies. I mostly just wanted to share the video with the paleo hacks community, since I thought was hilarious. Already decided not to comment on the trainer's post

Why do you need a clever comeback? The video is lame. If you look and feel good then you've already won. Ignore it.

What does this have to do with Paleo Hacking?

The second option. Arguing won't accomplish anything except probably making yourself frustrated. You won't change his opinion, and it doesn't really matter, does it?

I would say move on and keep working on yourself. He has too much time on his hands....use yours better than he does his and you will be the ELITE in not only fitness but life

I'm assuming he's lost others because of the same reason and posting to make himself feel better!

ignore him, he's not worth it!!

Unless he posted it on YOUR wall, then you have no need for a clever comeback.

As someone here so eloqunetly stated last week, let it go, not worth the cortisol.

I joined my local Crossfit today!! Wow what an experience!! I never got that from any traditional gym, if any of the so called trainers at 24 hr fitness even smiled at you, that was a bonus. Crossfit is where it's at, and where I'll be for the rest of my days!!! I'm hooked after one workout!!

Downfall is an excellent film. The warroom rant has been hacked SO many times. I like the hockey versions best. But the line about Starbucks is pretty funny.

It's not clear to me how this offends you personally. But your trainer has the high cinematic ground with this parody. Maybe you can find an appropriate South Park (Al Gore?) to slap back and keep the laughs rolling.

I am a Crossfitter, I have to admit the video is pretty funny...BUT, whoever wrote the stuff for it is so mis-informed about Crossfit its untrue. He/she is either very lazy in there research, bitter that Crossfit is changing so many lives for the better (and their glamour muscle training approach is not) or just un-intelligent in their approach to constructive critiscm or discussion on a topic that can promote much controversy. I am all for debates and discussion, it is how we improve ourselves as a society, but this individuals approach is naive and plain stupid.

This particular video with Hitler ranting has been used many times for various funny topics. I've seen the same thing used for funny world of warcraft videos. I doubt your trainer made this, he stole it from someone else most likely.

I think this was made by a crossfitter actually. Somebody not involved would not know all those crossfit terms. your trainer probably found it online, and doesnt even get it. I'd ignore him, do what makes you happy. I actually still do some training at a globo-gym, my clients have no idea that their workouts are based on crossfit style routines..they hate it, but they love it...just like the rest of us.

The fact that this clown actually had the time to make a video like this shows just how much "training" he actually does.. Be the bigger person and move on with the knowledge that you could probably destroy him in a work capacity workout 3 months from now.. :) On a lighter note.. you gotta admit.. it is pretty funny.. :P

I own a CrossFit gym and thought that was pretty funny so I wouldn't take it personally. In fact I've seen several CrossFit gyms posting it on Facebook too.

But I think you're best to just ignore it.
