I'm deployed, and I often play sports after crossfit. I Don't have the ability to eat a full meal because it will slow me down on the field. Anyone eat tanka bites after working out for protien? I don't like the idea of a protein shake, I'm... (more)
Hello everyone. I've lost over 70 lbs in the last year. I did this with intermittent juice fasts. I'm breaking my last juice fast today. I still have 10 lbs to go. I'm starting CrossFit in two days and I'd like to switch to paleo. I'm a short... (more)
So right off the bat I should mention I think guys like Martin Berkhan, Andy Morgan, and Lyle McDonald are some of the best out there in terms of the content they offer freely to the public. I had the opportunity to hire and work with Andy Morgan... (more)
So maybe it's because the games are coming up or because I've noticed more of them at my gym, but some of these guys are huge and it doesn't make sense to me. Granted, there are a lot of "average" sized men and women doing CrossFit but some of... (more)
Background: 5'7, female, 208lbs. Three years ago I went from 230 to 170 with light workouts and WW. I had a late miscarriage at 18w and then got pregnant with my son who was born last August. I have lost 0 pounds since he was born, though by... (more)
Cut out the ice cream, decrease your nut intake seeing as you're having it with already a large meal... cut your fruit intake to 1 serving per day... is the sausage something that comes processed in a box in the refrigerated section of the store? ... (more)
A while back it seems a cute little diet ran into a hunky exercise regime while shopping at the farmer???s market. The two clicked instantly, and have been in bed together ever since. Why is crossfit so popular among the paleo crowd, and vice... (more)
So. I've heard a lot about crossfit on here and other places, and I'm seriously considering signing up for a class. Frankly, I'm nervous: I'm really out of shape and have never done the "gym" thing (though I know crossfit is pretty different from... (more)
I've been doing CrossFit for a year and a half or so, and I've realized that none of the workouts from around the past two months have made me feel sore in the slightest???and these aren't "active recovery" WODs, either. I recently hit a 15 lb... (more)
Hi Everyone! This is my first time posting and I just want to get some feedback about what's going on to my body because I guess I'm a bit frustrated with what's going on. Anyway, I've been doing crossfit for about 10 weeks now, 3-4 times a... (more)
IMO, too much canned food. High sodium retains water. I agree also , you may be overtraining and not giving your body time to heal and it's considering itself injured and holding all calories.
I'm a recent convert to the Paleo life style with a fairly active lifestyle (Crossfit, Weightlifting, Running). I'm 33 and I usually one take 1-2 days off a week. My problem has been with my caloric/fat intake. I can't get enough. For... (more)
I know when I switched to Paleo I felt hungry all the time too. Since fat has more than double the calorie density of protein or carbs you aren't filling your stomach with as much volume. For me it just took a while to adjust.
Just some background info first off: I'm 15, female, 5"4, fluctuate around 109 - 110lbs or so, just started crossfitting 6x a week about 2 months ago (training for competition, I know this may seem like a bit too much but bear with me - also I... (more)
I started paleo about 3 weeks ago. Although I haven't been 100% strict, I think I have been pretty good (but I am new, so I could be wrong) My main goal is weight loss. I am 5'1" , haven't weighed myself in a while but last time I checked I... (more)
sounds like you are eating very few carbs. The "stubborn belly" could be from a ton of things -- one of which is too much cortisol build-up. You may want to consider implementing more rest days to help your body heal.
So I joined a crossfit gym and I love it. It is my new obsession and I try to make it five days a week. I have been going for a month now and although I am seeing results I know that it would be so much healthier for me to change my diet and go... (more)
I am an avid CrossFit-er and have been eating Paleo for a little over a year now. I have recently decided it's time to lean out just a bit more and see how fasting helps with body recomposition as well as gains in my lifts/metabolic conditioning... (more)
I have been following the paleo life style for about two months. I am 25 y.o.6-4" and started at 263 lbs Jan1 2014. As of Feb 11. 2014 i am down to 246 lbs. The results have been amazing. I originally started the diet because of sports... (more)
Hi everyone, I am 30, 165cm tall and weigh 154 pounds. Nearly all my life I have struggled with my weigh and past 10 years been a yoyo cycle. Always for weight loss I have been using low carb diets but gaining all weight back when was off the... (more)
I started Crossfitting back in October. I try to go 3-4x a week. But I work nights so some times it's hard to fit it in my day when I'm normally sleeping. I eat healthy. Not a big carb person naturally but I don't restrict myself either. If I... (more)
For the past week I've been logging everything I eat so I can take a broader look at things and also hopefully get feedback from this community on where I could be doing better. I've noticed that the mere act of logging my food has helped to... (more)
I'm a 16 year old girl, 5'4" , 150lbs. Not sure what my BF % is, but probably around 25%. I want to lean out, as I've put on a substantial amount of muscle in my last year of Crossfit. I've been paleo for about a year and a half. An average... (more)
Before beginning Crossfit I lost about 45 pounds on my own. I am a 5'11 female and I went from about 190 to 155 in about 6 months. Like many people I lost most of my weight by eating a 1200-1500 calorie diet, and doing way too much cardio. ... (more)
If you are worried about fat gain, you should get your body fat measured--caliper or bodypod if you can afford it. Scales are notoriously inaccurate--you've likely put on some nice muscle.
Hi, I'm really new to the whole paleo thing... I need a way to keep from gaining any substantial muscle and not have enough glycogen/serum igf levels to fuel my workouts. I've heard going paleo would help. This is mainly to facilitate my... (more)
I'm on day 2 of a Ketogenic diet, or what I think is one. I'm trying to experiment and see where it can take me in getting rid of love-handles that are stubborn and also because of injuries from CrossFit have left me a bit sedentary for a while... (more)

I am on a strict Paleo diet with little to no fruit(maybe a serving a day). Do you think white rice/white Potatoes has its place in the paleo diet (Post WOD)? Or is it better off to avoid it completely? I do crossfit 5-6 times a week and I really... (more)
