Share a recent success?

So, I had a recent success. I went with my parents to a buffet at a casino in AC yesterday...and I mean a BUFFET. I actually thought about taking pics of the food because I had never seen so much in one place!

We're talking pasta bar, potato bar, salad bar, Japanesel food, Chinese food (dumplings, egg rolls, dim sum, fried meats), Mongolian BBQ, Mac and cheese, fried seafood, hush puppies, mashed potatoes, cold cuts, pizza, fish, 12 kinds of Ice cream, 6 kind of cake, 4 kinds of pudding, cupcakes (red velvet, double choc) 4 kinds of pie, cheesecake, chocolates, and then an entire sugar free dessert section!!

Well, I had eggs for breakfast, bacon, and coffee with heavy cream. 5 hours later I looked at the buffet with sadness becuause I was still full and had no desire.

I ended up having a huge salad and some veggies and ignoring my mom while she pushed dessert at me. :-) I've never been able to resist before. I am so happy!

Anyone else have a success story?

I haven't been on a scale in a long time, but my pants are looser - down a belt loop.

My boyfriend is doing this as well and is seeing great results... he's trying to cut fat without losing muscle. I think he's nearly five pounds down in a couple weeks of doing so.

Based on Martin Berkham's leangains protocol - it's a type of intermittent fasting. It's purported to have some health benefits, such as increasing autophagy by extending the overnight fast. It's also useful for fat loss. But I like it because I'm not that hungry in the morning. It allows me bigger, more satisfying meals later in the day.

Can I ask your reason for doing so? Just curious?

Keep up the no snacking. It is one of the best benefits of Paleo that many people forget about.

I made lots of changes! I started paleo in March. here are my starting stats: Weight-187 Pants size: 14 CRP (inflammation) - 21 Cholesterol- 204 Triglycerides- 202 HDL- 61 LDL- 103

My July stats!: Weight- 170 Size- 10 CRP- 13 Cholesterol- 170 Triglycerides- 69!!! HDL- 47 LDL- 109

My doctor was stoked! I'm stoked! I went from what I thought was a fairly "healthy" SAD, low fat, oatmeal, whole grain etc.

Now I eat plants, animals, and FATs. Yes, fats! No grains except for the occasional rice. No tubers except the occasional yams (are they starchy? I don't even care). Lots of dark chocolate. Lots of fruits, veggies and meat. Small amount of nuts. I'm not missing anything from my old diet. Sleep, nails, hair, energy, brain fog, all improved!! I just found out today and had to brag, but you asked! ;)

I had my first homemade sauerkraut, 9 days old, and rediscovered the wonders of a healthy bowel. I am now a paleo fermentation freak. I ran for 30 minutes and felt powerful.

I've been Paleo for only a week and a half and am seeing results as well as having more energy. Plus I'm not snacking between meals because I'm full!

SWEET!

Mine is a bit more vain: I biked 20 miles straight today and then came back to find some new upper ab definition coming in. I'm really excited about approaching Mark Sisson-ness on a high-carb diet. -- I think he'd still take the success story though, potatoes and all.

Again, great job on the buffet table (Okay, that sounds a little weird... as if you either ate the contents in their entirety or danced atop it wearing a lamp shade -- ah well).

I managed to make a new vein visible on my hand. That's my third :D. Too bad I saw a guy with veins all over his arms today, jealousy kicked in again.

I'm having some success at limiting my eating to an 8 hour window.

I say some success, because some days it's more like 9 or 10 hours.
