Does anyone else drink MetroMint water?

I've recently become obsessed with this water called MetroMint. It's water purified by reverse osmosis and infused with mint oil and other flavors (like lemon, orange, and berries). The water contains no sweeteners, no preservatives, and no calories.

I think this water is AMAZING! I was looking for something to help me with cravings for soda, juices, even beer....so when I get those cravings I reach for one of these and ahhhhhhhhhh it's so refreshing and relaxing at the same time 8-)

However, I have read tons of reviews from people who HATE this stuff! They say it "tastes like drinking toothpaste" and that "it burns on the way down". People are comparing it to mouthwash....and I honestly have no idea what they're talking about because to me, it's perfect!

What do you guys think?

Get a good filter for your kitchen tap, fill up a pitcher with water and add some mint sprigs, orange or lemon peelings, or a few frozen berries. Let steep a few hours. Drink. Take in stainless steel bottles or canning jars when traveling and skip the plastic. Save a pile.

I try to avoid the bpa in plastic water bottles. If I buy bottled, I get mineral water bottled in glass. Delicious, but expensive. I'd suggest a good water filter. I like the berkey ones.

Just tried the chocolatemint (1st time trying any flavor)when it was on clearance at my local grocery store. I first smelled it and thought it was going to taste terrible. I was surprised at how lightly flavored it is, and how smooth. I immediately went out and bought two cases. YUM.

LOVE it...bought it at some supermarket and then could NOT remember which one...been looking for it everywhere since and finally bought 24 bottles on Amamzon for kind of a high price, but to me...it is worth it. I tried making my own with tea bags and it's just not as refreshing.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one obsessed with MetroMint; I guess it's an acquired taste. Thus far, the cheapest price I have found is at a local market for $1.50 per bottle. I have infused my own water with mint and I make a great deal of loose leaf mint tea, but have not been able to replicate the refreshing taste/quality of MetroMint. For now, it will remain my 'special treat' when it's on sale.

Yes i am also obsessed. I live in a small town and can only get it at Safeway. It is almost always on sale for 10 for $10. They have only chocolate, spearmint and peppermint. Have not tried any of the other flavors. The lemon and orange sound good. I ad a little splenda or stevia for a little sweetness and put them in the freezer until almost completele frozen and take one to my dialysis treatment. Stays cold and yummy for nearly my whole treatment. Love em!!

Metromint chocolatemint water is my new favorite thing. I love it! It doesn't leave a nasty after taste like other flavored waters.

Got some Metromint water free at a charity walk today and I also felt that it would fill the gap created by no longer drinking soda or (my hot weather favorite) lemonade. The plastic doesn't bother me from a health standpoint, though it does from an environmental one. But the price! At the only store at which I found it, it was $2 a bottle, and that was better than any internet price. That gives me pause, so I don't know how much I'll pursue drinking Metromint.

Expensive flavored water doesn't really fascinate me. One reverse osmosis water is the same as another reverse osmosis water. So their only selling point is the flavor. I don't think a 25+ cent premium per small bottle is necessarily worth it, but your mileage may vary.

I ADORE the spearmint and peppermint -- hate hate hate the cherry, berry, and chocolate -- and am lukewarm on the orange and lemon. I put a couple drops of liquid Splenda -- but I don't drink many cause they cost some much! (Did buy 30 once, when Kroger had them for a buck a bottle!!) My husband gags and says it tastes like perfume smells! My sister hates the taste. There's just no tellin'!

Topo Chico mineral water is awesome, and pretty cheap.I use it to kill the soda pop cravings during the summer.

I'm a huge Perrier/Pelligrino fan. I often wonder if it hydrates me the same way not carbonated water does...

I buy MetroMint every now and then. I think they did the flavoring very well, although I do wish they would branch out to some non-mint options. It's purified water, so that's good. By the way, purified tap water is fine. It's purified, so the water source is not important. Sure minerals are important, but the fact that MetroMint water does not have minerals from Springs in it does not make it a bad choice of fluid.

Another excellent water drink is from RW Knudsen believe it or not. Pure ingredients and no sweetener.

Blueberry is the best. Cucumber is horrible.

I add a pinch of Stevia and sometimes a couple tablespoons of heavy cream (cream soda).

I tried the MetroMint once, and kind of liked it, but not enough to buy it again. The one that I'm totally stuck on is Dr. Ayala's ginger and lemonpeel water. I refer to it as "my special treat" and bring it with me to family gatherings so that I don't miss having soda.

I also went through a Metromint phase a couple of years ago! I did recently buy some more when it was on sale and tried the chocolate. It's pretty good!

I went through a Metromint phase in 2008 but my obsession wore off. Never got to try the chocolate flavor though; maybe someday.

It's great that there are no sweeteners. As for water quality, it's no better than Pepsi's Aquafina or Coke's Dasani - purified tap water. Better to drink mineral/spring water.
