Hi, Does anyone know much about flavour stone cookware? Is it ok or just as full of chemicals as Teflon? Does it need seasoning or special care etc? Thank you!

It does need to be seasoned. It is PFOA free which is a plus. There are other brands of this new style of cookware like OrGreenic, Stoneline, and Stone Dine.

The downside is, unlike stainless steel and cast iron, these various pans can only be used on medium heat or lower because there are still chemicals that bind whatever the non-stick stuff is that can be released at high heat.

I personally like to heat my pans on high to get them started for cooking. Just think of lifting a good stainless steel pan or cast-iron pan as an impromptu arm workout.

If you mean "FlavorStone", it's just a chemical coating very similar to Teflon, though it's not Teflon it's called Sapphire. It doesn't contain PFOA like Teflon and Gore-Tex, but I have no idea what it does contain.

Summary: it's all chemicals, like Teflon.
