coconut oil vs coconut cream. is it the same when it comes to cooking?

Ive got a receipe to make chocolate chips that requires coconut oil. Can cocnut cream be substituted for the oil?

Sorry, backwards term. Creamed coconut is like peanut butter. Google "Let's do Organic creamed coconut". It is a solid brick of coconut butter.

That is incorrect. Coconut cream is liquid, comparable to dairy cream, or concentrated coconut milk.

Coconut cream has more coconut solids in it. It's delicious to eat on its own, but not right for cooking. It melts, but it will make everything taste much more like coconuts than oil will, and it will probably mess with the texture of whatever you put it in.

You should definitely not use coconut butter for frying / saut??ing / etc. There's too much stuff in there that will burn. Use refined coconut oil if you need heat tolerance.

No. Coconut cream is The same as coconut butter. It's like peanut butter Instead of cooking fat.
