I keep seeing this website referenced in some of the questions here and I a, interested since I do take a few supplements, but it requires a membership to access. Does anyone have a membership and if so can you let me know if it is worth it? Can you search products by maker/brand say GNC, Optimum Nutrition, etc.?

Would it be a hassle to ask for a list of brands they cover? Or would you say that it's generally comprehensive?

Yea I have membership. Since I got ill (Leaky gut/AF/ME-CFS) I depended on supplements during the first period. Now I've cut down on them, but still find CL very useful. Yes you can check vitamins and such by brand, GNC is almost always part of their "tested products" on their lists of different supplements. But after emailing them why they don't increase the number of brands being tested, they replied it isn't possible because of the costs involved since they're an independent unit (non-government supported). However, if you wish to have a certain supplement by any brand not on their lists tested, CL will do that for you at your own expenses. I find them extremely helpful, they have avoided me from buying brands they reported as contaminated with lead and/or not having the promised amount of the concerned vitamin/mineral/antioxidant/herb. Which sometimes can be too little, but more dangerously, can be too much. And without knowing you'd be exceeding the non-toxic amount of that supplement on a daily basis. Also, some supplements that come in pill form, have been found by them not to properly break down in our GI. Then that would be a waste of our money, because our bodies won't absorb the substances this way.
