treatment for swollen glands

My brother thought he was coming down with a cold and developed swollen glands on the left side of his neck. We are told his means he's fighting off an infection somewhere in his body and there's no specific treatment. Any advice on what he could eat or take (vitamin-wise) to help? He's not paleo but a lot more open to it than most people.

"swollen glands" refers to swollen lymph nodes. it's a symptom of infection. it means that something "upstream" of the swelling is infected. if it's in his neck it likely means a sinus infection or head cold. treat the cold and you can use warm compresses on the neck to releve any discomfort from the swelling. it will likely get better on it's own, but if it doesn't, go to the doctor for antibiotics.
