Paleo for a year but all of the sudden always cold?

Answered on August 19, 2014

In the last couple of months i've been feeling cold almost constantly even when others around me aren't cold. My carbs are the same as before maybe even higher (average 230ish now). Could it be a sleep thing or dietary deficiency or what? My body fat has stayed about the same this whole time. Height-5 foot 9 Weight-138 pounds(15 pounds higher than it was a year ago) Gender-male Age-18 Carb sources-80 % paleo usually sweet potatoes/yams and a good amount of fruit. Please help

Where do you get selenium from? If it's fish, it might not be that good of a source. Brazil nuts are better, but they have the omega-6. Lamb in general has quite some selenium though.

I don't get much iodine in my diet as i dislike seafood and seaweed and don't supplement or used iodized salt. I do get adequate selenium though (i track it on cronometer)

Definitely thyroid issues - try out Ray Peat. You can be Peatarian an paleo at the same time.

Are you restricting your calories more than usual? I find that on days that I fast or keep my calories too low, I'm always freezing.

Could be an alcohol thing. Or more generally, a dehydration thing, which alcohol tends to cause.

Tubers keep me warm. Eating lots of potatoes makes me cozy.
