i noticed some slight burning upon peeing that lessened when i had less coffee. i only drank 1 to 3 cups a day anyway- but it was crappy instant. i gave up caffeinated coffee, but will still occasionally have a cup of decaf. i also have one cup of weak black tea in the morning. my peeing is more comfy now. any similar stories of improvement in that department?

Because burning when you pee is indicative that something is wrong. I doubt it's related to paleo. If it returns, I'd go to a doctor.

Burning can be an indication of a bladder infection. Maybe not, but there's the info.

additionally, i believe caffeine affects iron absorption, so being that i am anemic (for reasons unclear- gastroenterologist appt june 1), i wanted to cut it down.

Just tinkle into a glass. If it's cloudy, you're likely infected. If it's clear, you're probably dealing with interstitial cystitis.

Hmm, male or female? I've never had burning when I pee that is related to consumption. Your body doesn't work that way - the coffee doesn't go straight to your bladder.

Odds are that a burning sensation is caused by something that your kidneys are filtering out of your blood. It could potentially be caffeine, but I doubt that.

Seriously, see a doctor.

I agree with the interstitial cystitis. The acid causes the inflamed lining to burn. IC stinks. Google it to see if you have any of the other symptoms. I have it, but I can usually keep it in remission.
