Coffee "creamer"

Answered on September 13, 2013

I love coffee and miss having it now that im doing paleo. I tried a coconut creamer recipe i found online, it had coconut milk, coconut oil, eggs and two other things i cant remember. Anyways it was horrible and the oil was floating on the top of my coffee. I see that other people use heavy cream but that just sounds wrong!

Any suggestions? ...I miss Starbucks, esp during pumpkin season :-(

just a note on the aroy-d, be aware they do also sell coconut milk & cream in cans as well, which includes a preservative (potassium metabisulfite)...tho i don't think the cans say 100% on them.

I think the stuff labelled 100% only comes in cartons (i could be wrong) & has no additives. but always check the labels anyway.

was the 1200-1300 calories a day info from the myfitnesspal BMR calculator? is so, that calc is just an estimate of how many cals your body needs to do nothing but rest (but not sleep) for 24 hrs. here's another calc which gives some cal estimates (bmr & rmr formulas) for rest plus different activity levels, http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php

That is a *really* low calorie amount for a day, almost dangerously low.

Try just whipped full fat coconut milk. Look up coconut whipped cream.

I am a black coffee drinker. Can't stand anything else in it. My wife however had to have her Latte and was fine until the espresso milk steamer wand broke. I heated 1/2- 3/4 cup of whole milk into a mug with a double shot of espresso and problem solved. Saves a ton of money over the Starbucks addiction so many have. Easily sub coconut milk for the regular milk, Aroy-D 100% coconut milk is pure coconut no fillers.

Those websites don't do anything but put one on a starvation diet that will mess up your metabolism. Don't count calories b/c in my opinion it leads one down the road to an eating disorder. If you eat nutritious, whole foods and listen to your body hunger signals + get some exercise, you will see changes in your body composition. There's a good article about the 1200 calorie diet:

I know its paleo friendly but it just sounds so bad after eating 1200-1300 calories a day. I might just try it out and thank you for the pumpkin spice recipe!

How is heavy cream wrong-?-many paleoites do high quality dairy (preferably raw), if their body tolerates it. For your pumpkin latte needs:
