Coconut oil and hunger

I've been cooking a lot with coconut oil lately. I'm totally aware of it's ability to increase the bodies metabolism...but I just start to get hungry right after a meal...as if it starts to burn instantly!

Anyone else experience this, or is it all in my head?

Brilliant suggestion, and well said. Although not necessarily resolving "why" coconut oil might increase appetite/hunger, "what" coconut oil's effects are is also quite useful.

Sounds like a topic for experimentation. Neither theoretical biochem information nor the combined experience of many paleo-ers is as useful as finding out what coconut oil does for you.

So, try cooking the same food in other oils and see how it affects your appetite. Even better, see if you can get someone to cook for you so you can do the test without knowing what the oil was.

Very interesting. Coconut oil is really big here in Thailand and they promote it as a weight loss aid. they recommend you have 3T a day before meals to reduce your appetite.
