I know the stuff is the bomb ... but it is gnarly when eaten straight. Maybe a dab of honey?

Tastes good. If you add a little bit of stevia to it, it feels like something you shouldn't be able to should feel guilty for eating, but it's not :D

I can't say I like coconut butter either, or at least the brand I've tried. It's essentially just coconut flour mixed with coconut oil - edible, but hardly tasty.

I made my own with dried coconut, coconut oil, and the food processor. Quick, easy, and cheap!!!!!

Agreed with Dan. It's easily addicting. Especially with a little cinnamon!

I agree with Matt, there is no good or compelling reason to put a spoonful of plain unflavoured fat in your mouth. If you like to do that, go ahead. If you don't like to, don't freaking do it. Problem, solution.

Why eat it a straight? Seriously, only paleo weirdos do that. Just cook with it. Even then, put it in rotation with a variety of other fats.

Buy Coconut BUTTER. Not pure coconut oil, but coconut butter with fragments of coconut flesh in it; it's got the protein and nutrition n stuff. Far superior in taste, in my opinion. I could eat a whole jar in one sitting if I let myself.

You know, you DON'T HAVE TO EAT THINGS YOU DO NOT LIKE. Nobody is going to shove it down your throat. Find a good replacement.

Mix it with some unsweetened cocoa powder for a mouthful of chocolately goodness.

Try a different brand! I've tried some with very bad taste. Nutiva is delicious! I can eat it right off the spoon.

Urine is supposed to be good for you, don't see people drinking that. Don't worry if you do not like it there isn't a necessity to consume it. There are plenty of alternatives that offer similar benefits.

Never eat mine straight, but I cook with it. I really don't get eating it straight at all.

Do what I do and don't eat it. You don't even need cooking oils if you grill or stew your meat. You can get flavourless coconut oil though.

I know it's probably not as 'good' as virgin coconut oil, but I use the stuff that has the flavor removed....I just cannot stand the coconutty flavor of the virgin, makes me wanna vom!

Haha, seriously you don't have to eat it straight. If you're using coconut oil for most of your cooking, you'll be getting enough in your diet.

Another thing I like to do is add a spoonful of coconut oil to random recipes. I love having Paleo Breakfast Bread and sometimes I'll mix in a spoonful of coconut oil into the batter to get more in my diet.
