Can you use coconut butter to make coconut milk?

Combine it with some peppermint or vanilla extract and freeze it: deliciously delicious. Add in nuts or berries or whatever you feel like.

Wish I liked Arroy-D--i tried it 1) not organic 2) it is not smooth at all too much bits and pieces in there for me.

Negatory, but it makes all sorts of other good stuff, like dark chocolate coconut brickle.

Honestly I'd much rather just eat the butter. And Arroy-D doesn't have Guar gum, just coconut milk and water, though I can never find it at the store.

No you cannot, because coconut butter has coconut meat solids in it, and coconut milk doesn't. Watering down coconut butter won't give you coconut milk. Try getting Native Forest coconut milk, their canned classic stuff has a little bit of Guar gum in it, but other than that it's just pure coconut milk. In the meantime, eat your coconut butter! That stuff is delicious! ^_^

I purchased "coconut cream concentrate" by It's Organic for less than $3 for a 12 oz box. This turned out to be, to my surprise, a solid brick which was exactly the same thing as much higher priced "coconut butter".

The box had directions to add hot water to make coconut milk. I was skeptical but it worked. And tasted pretty good. So yes, you can make coconut milk from coconut butter.

Yes-- I make it all the time. Coconut butter and hot water and blend--refrigerate. I would rather do that than ingest guar gum. You can also make it from coconut chips -- go to the Tropical Traditions website and there is a video there.
